In the heart of Nacogdoches, Texas, Rochelle and The Sidewinders set the Live Oak Listening Room ablaze with their energetic performance on November 11, 2022. Capturing the essence of this live experience, the band's latest album, "Live at the Live Oak Listening Room," radiates the infectious fun and musical prowess they've become known for across the Lone Star State.

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Rochelle and The Sidewinders boast a lineup featuring Rochelle Creone on lead vocals, Tom Coplen on guitar and vocals, Jim Trimmier on saxophone, keyboards, and vocals, Steven Campbell on bass guitar and vocals, and Arturs Reirs on the drums. With a history dating back to 2015, the band has been recognized for their lively shows, earning accolades such as the Austin Blues Society's "Heart of Texas Blues Challenge" and making waves as two-time semi-finalists at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.

"Live at the Live Oak Listening Room" marks the band's fourth full-length album, showcasing their dynamic sound and stage presence. Opening with the swing-styled "Gotta Get Going," Rochelle's powerful vocals take center stage, complemented by the outstanding saxophone lines of Jim Trimmier. Tracks like "Party Time" and "Get Off (The Couch)" bring the dance-funky vibe that defines The Sidewinders' signature style, featuring dynamic guitar work from Tom Coplen.

The album takes a soulful turn with covers of classics like Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" and a smooth rendition of the Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See." However, the standout cover is the band's take on Corinne Bailey Rae's 2006 hit "Put Your Records On," showcasing Rochelle's vocal versatility and intensity.

As the album progresses, Rochelle and The Sidewinders hit their stride with "Good Love," a foot-stomping bluesy number featuring a captivating guitar solo from Coplen. The rockin' tune "My Baby Came Back" concludes the album on a high note, highlighting Rochelle's vocal prowess and the band's ability to create a vibrant musical celebration.

Live albums often face the challenge of capturing the magic of a single performance and conveying the connection between the band and the audience. "Live at the Live Oak Listening Room" rises to this challenge, successfully bringing the listener into the heart of Rochelle and The Sidewinders' Texas-sized party. The album is a testament to the band's musicianship, Rochelle's bluesy vocals, and their unwavering commitment to delivering a good time.
