Southern California's Rhythm Krewe, formerly known as Floyd & The Flyboys, makes an impactful debut with "Unfinished Business." Led by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Steve Zelman, this band of seasoned musicians delivers a diverse range of sounds, blending blues, rhythm & blues, jump blues, swing, soul, and more. With a four-piece horn section and a collective musical history that includes collaborations with legends like Ray Charles and Santana, Rhythm Krewe ensures a dynamic and engaging musical journey on their inaugural release.

The album kicks off with a bluesy rendition of Johnny "Guitar" Watson's "She Moves Me," where Steve Zelman's smooth vocals and inventive guitar work shine. The horn section, featuring the talented Chris Mostert on tenor sax, adds a riveting touch to the groove. "One Hell For Another" takes a turn into New Orleans R&B territory, driven by Gary Coppola's vocals over a rhumba beat, complemented by Jim Blazer's piano and the vibrant horn section.

In "Little Bit Of Heaven," Rhythm Krewe explores a soulful ballad, with Zelman's swampy guitar creating a soothing atmosphere. "Better Late Than Never" sees Zelman professing his love with a blend of smooth vocals and expressive guitar work. "Time Of Day" brings forth a tale of unrequited love, supported by bluesy guitar and Jim Blazer's cocktail lounge piano.

The band delivers a punchy rendition of James Cotton's "She's Murder," skillfully contrasting punchy horns with bluesy guitar. Professor Longhair's "Her Mind Is Gone" takes on a slightly slower pace, infusing a jazzier vibe into the mix. Guest vocalist David Morgan steps in for "Prescription for Disaster," a shuffle featuring Chris Rhyne's organ and Danny Pucillo Jr.'s dynamic drumming.

The salsa-infused "Wild Love" showcases the rhythmic expertise of Danny Pucillo Jr.'s drumming and the tasteful organ work of Jim Blazer. The title track, "Unfinished Business," sung by Gary Coppola, maximizes the impact of the horn section. "Sweet Surrender" slows down the pace, with Chris Rhyne contributing a tender piano intro, offering a mellow respite.

Closing with "Monkey Toes," a swinging and lighthearted piece featuring vocals from both Steve Zelman and Gary Coppola, Rhythm Krewe leaves a lasting impression with a playful Bo Diddley beat.

"Unfinished Business" is a testament to the talent and cohesion of Rhythm Krewe. Tight instrumentation, cleverly chosen cover songs, and crafty lyrics make this debut album a welcome addition to the music landscape. For those seeking a seamless blend of blues and diverse genres delivered by a group of skilled musicians, Rhythm Krewe's "Unfinished Business" is a must-have for your collection.
