In the heart of Central Missouri, the MO Blues Association, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2023, has gifted blues enthusiasts with a remarkable album titled 'Headin’ Out.' As a testament to their dedication to the blues, the association opted to channel funds earmarked for the annual International Blues Challenge into a collective musical venture. The result is a 15-track masterpiece featuring original compositions from eight member bands, showcasing the vibrant blues scene thriving in the heart of the country.

The album kicks off with Luke Blue and The Pla-Mors, introducing a jazzy flair with "The Blues Rhumba" and transitioning seamlessly into a rock 'n' roll groove with "Hard to Find."

Lady J Huston follows, infusing the collection with a dynamic energy through "Nibble in the Middle" and the juke joint vibes of "Pass The Honey."

Buddah Blue takes the stage with infectious energy, declaring that "Mo Jump always cures my blues" in their track of the same name. The bluesy narrative continues with "That’s My Babe," a testament to the unique love that defies assembly line standards.

Ben Green and Friends bring a touch of New Orleans with "Louisiana Hot Sauce," an exuberant harmonica-led blast. The tempo shifts seamlessly to a country blues vibe with "Spend Some Time with Me," exploring the fleeting nature of time and the desire for connection.

Blues Highway delves into the struggles of a working-class life in "The Circus" and immerses listeners in the bluesy philosophy of "Blues Highway." Mick Byrd follows with the blues-rock anthem "Love Too Strong," and the raw emotion of "Just the Blues."

Dayne Hudek's soulful vocals shine in the emotionally charged "Tell Me," a narrative that unfolds in the aftermath of late-night musings at the bar. The melancholic yet heartfelt "Miss You" follows, echoing the bluesy sentiment of yearning and desire.

Graj Mahal concludes the album with the infectious "What Do You Think About That," a call-and-response celebration of life's twists and turns that lead to the blues.
