Brad "Guitar" Wilson, the maestro of West Coast blues rock, is back with his sixth album, "Lovers Before Sunrise," a collection that amplifies his exuberant sound to new heights. Teaming up with Grammy producer Francis Buckley, Wilson unleashes a sonic feast with eleven original tracks and three captivating covers, showcasing his virtuosic guitar skills and soulful vocals.

The core band consists of Brad "Guitar" Wilson on lead guitar and vocals, Brian Beal on bass, and Adan Gust on drums. Joining the lineup are Hal Cragin on flugelhorn, Chris Rhyne on keys, and Deb Jacobs, adding sweet duets and backing vocals. The album kicks off with "More Than I Do," a blues-rock love song that sets the stage for what's to come. Wilson's fiery licks and impassioned vocals take center stage, complemented by guest vocalists Kiki Wow and Amber Guzman.

"Blues Magic" follows, showcasing Wilson's versatility with Latin-influenced rock sounds reminiscent of Santana. The track serves as a testament to Wilson's eclectic influences and his ability to infuse different genres seamlessly into his blues-rock foundation. "Big Fish" takes the listener to the Bayou, where Wilson skillfully narrates the tale of an elusive opponent, his guitar playing and the band providing a lively backdrop.

Paying homage to blues history, Wilson delivers a spirited rendition of Leroy Carr's "Blues Before Sunrise," infusing the classic shuffle with his distinctive touch. The album takes a turn with Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love," where Wilson playfully channels his musical heroes in a blues-rock rendition that captivates and energizes.

"When You Get To My House," a jump blues written by producer Francis Buckley, stands out as one of the album's highlights. With horns in full force and a dynamic rhythm section, Wilson explores a different facet of his musical expression. The slow blues of "I'm Still Breathing" showcases Wilson's nuanced approach, displaying restraint and thoughtful phrasing that adds depth to the track.

"Goin' Fishin' In The Rain" keeps the momentum rolling with a driving beat and an up-tempo groove, while Wilson gives Muddy Waters' "I'm Ready" a rocking makeover that pays homage to the blues legend. The high-octane rockabilly energy of "Black Coffee at Sunshine" keeps the listener on their toes, a testament to Wilson's versatility.

"Rollin' Thunder" and "Down At The Twist And Shout" demonstrate Wilson's prowess in crafting anthemic rockers and Cajun-inspired pieces, respectively. The soulful "Words I Want To Say To You" features Deb Jacobs once again, showcasing her exceptional vocal talents. The album concludes with a live performance of "Slide On Over," a guitar-driven spectacle that leaves a lasting impression.

Brad "Guitar" Wilson's "Lovers Before Sunrise" is a blues rock extravaganza that combines impeccable musicianship, heartfelt lyrics, and electrifying performances. Wilson's guitar wizardry, paired with the band's tight-knit synergy and the soulful contributions of guest vocalists, makes this album a must-listen for blues rock enthusiasts.
